Founded in the city of Lawrence, Massachusetts with a single tow truck by founder and owner: Frank Coady. Today, we have amassed a fleet of 40 trucks, servicing the entire Eastern Coast and beyond.
Frank Coady, the founder of Coady’s Towing, has possessed a fascination for the automotive industry since he young. Starting at 13, after classes at Lawrence Vocational School where he studied automotive, Frank wasted no time finding work for long hours at local gas stations, and eventually, local towing companies (once he could drive). He didn’t mind it, it was a fascination that transitioned effortlessly into his vocation. Frank eventually purchased a single tow truck over 50 years ago now, and began (what we know today as) Coady’s Towing by working out of the driveway of his parent’s house, “7 days a week, 15 hours a day.” Frank has constructed a local reputation for providing honest, quality service to his community. Frank had learned in his youth that the combination of honest work performed well, combined with thoughtful, kind acts towards his community and clients, was the key to growing his new business venture — and living a happy, fulfilling life.
After Coady’s success as a result of Frank’s hard work, Frank purchased the Lawrence, Massachusetts location in the mid 1980’s, the very same location Coady’s is headquartered, today. Frank was expanding his business at this point, his clients being almost entirely comprised of commercial and fleet accounts. Frank explains, “We began to scale; purchasing bigger wreckers, hiring more employees, and importantly: maintaining that reputation of great service.” Today, with Frank still at the helm, Coady’s employs 55 team members and is always growing, dispatching its 40 truck fleet, and is proudly known as a regional industry leader, providing towing, recovery, and transport services throughout New England and beyond.
Coady’s grew as a result of the dedicated work by Frank in the beginning. Yet today, we attribute our success to our team and our community that enables us to keep driving forward. We believe without our communal values, found present in every facet of our business like: the office, our driver’s together on the road, or within our Lawrence, Massachusetts community — Coady’s would not exist. As Frank says, “I am blessed to have a great family, and to be able to do what I love with the people that I love, every day. Success is wonderful. We all want to make money – that’s the goal. But money can only make you comfortable, it can’t always make you happy. Working with good people, for good people: that’s what makes me happy.”
